Everyone has a yearbook.
Everyone looks back at their yearbooks when they grow up.
Such is the case with the Crusaders.
Recently, the newest edition of the Crusader was released to students. This year, however, the Crusader was different. A new staff had taken over.
The new staff consisted of moderator Becky Pacetti and students Marc Ridgell ‘19, Troy McManigal ‘19, Mike Tinley ‘18, Joe McMullen ‘19, and Luke Swiatek ‘18.
This year’s edition of the Crusader, styled after world-renowned Time Magazine, honored Brother Rice Principal Jim Antos. The yearbook referred to Mr. Antos as “The Greatest Crusader.” After all that Mr. Antos has done for Brother Rice, its students, its teachers, and its alumni, honoring him was fitting. Yearbook editor Marc Ridgell ‘19 said, “As 1 of only 5 students working on the yearbook, we delved deeply into how we can give recognition to those who have made our last 3-4 years at Brother Rice more than just academics. It was appropriate to recognize Mr. Antos because, in my opinion, he not only let the journalism staff, but all students in other extracurricular pursuits, have the opportunity to give our best to our passions every day at school.”
The 2018 editors of the Crusader did a great job. A lot of hard work and effort was put into the final product. Yearbook editor Troy McManigal ‘19 said, “We had a few days where we spent an hour or two after school working on the yearbook.”
Having the ability to keep the theme in mind is crucial. Brother Rice graduate and yearbook editor Mike Tinley ‘18 said, “I think the biggest thing was having the right eye when editing to carry out the theme.”
Great job to all the student editors and moderator Becky Pacetti on a great yearbook!
