On a wonderful, fall afternoon, the Crusader Alumni Athletic Club (CAAC) held its annual golf outing at Ridge Country Club.
The outing is designed to help raise money for our own Brother Rice athletic teams. The day consisted of 18 holes of golf with a party for all participants after.
The outing was another sold-out smashing success and raised over $20,000 that will go straight to supporting our Crusader teams. Founder of the CAAC Shaun Jacob ‘91 said, “I would like to thank all the alumni who showed support to our cause and who helped support Brother Rice Athletics.” Shaun would also like to give a shoutout to co-chairman of the CAAC Jack Winters ‘98 for his Herculean efforts of bringing in twelve foursomes and over 80% of the sponsors.
The golf team also held a fundraiser on the 17th hole, as they hosted “Beat the Crusader.” Senior Aidan McGuire was on the hole throughout the day and was a tremendous help to the fundraiser. Aidan said, “The whole day was very busy as groups were coming nonstop. The day was a great success and we were able to raise over $1,250 for the team. Seeing past Crusaders who care for the school was very cool.”
Many Brother Rice students caddied in the outing. Among the caddies was sophomore multi-sport athlete Quinn Clifford. Clifford said, “It was great to see everyone come out and support Rice athletics. My group and I had a blast all day. Overall it was a great day.”
The outing was a tremendous success and it was another great day to be a Crusader!
