After an extended leave of absence due to a battle with stage four colon cancer, Mr. Randy Johnson has finally returned to Brother Rice and is currently in remission. Having been a teacher and football coach for fifteen years at Rice, he’s overjoyed to return and get back to work. Mr. Johnson said, “I appreciate the little things more than I did in the past because I realized that none of those things are guaranteed to us.” Having done a triathlon after surviving an electric shock many years ago, Mr. Johnson has plans to complete another one in August to mark the two years since he was diagnosed with cancer. Having a stronger connection with God and a more optimistic outlook on life, Mr. Johnson proves that through willpower and faith, any challenge can be overcome.
