Comcast Network held an Illinois fan section showdown. Each school who has a wild and crazy fan section was invited to join the showdown. The schools were randomly paired in brackets from each division. The divisions were based on the school enrollment. They consisted of the Hoosier Region, Teen Wolf Region, Hoop Dreams Region, and Blue Chips Region. The schools faced off, and each school was able to earn votes in polls on the Cn100 twitter page. The school with the most votes moved on. The brackets consisted of fifty teams. Winning teams continued to move on until they were knocked out. Fewer and fewer teams continued their student section run. Four teams from each division were crowned champion. These four teams showed that they have the most school pride.
Your Crusader Crazies have fought valiantly and have won the regional championship. The Crusaders are co-state champions for Battle of the Fans. Nick Cinquepalmi, a proud and committed Crazy, talks about why he thinks the Crazies should have won. “I believe we are part of an elite group of student fan sections. We deserve to win this student section showdown because we go out to more sports that other schools don’t. We show up to football, basketball, hockey, baseball, rugby, and soccer. We show support to all of our teams here at Brother Rice.” The Battle of the Fans has shown Brother Rice not only wins on the field but also in the stands.
